Springtime snowfall is expected

This is not an April Fools' Day prank. Springtime snowfall is expected Friday afternoon, until Saturday morning. About 5 centimeters of snow can be expected.

A low tracking up from the Central United States will bring snow to Southern Quebec starting this afternoon, according to Environment Canada. Mostly wet snow is expected today. However, the snow will accumulate tonight as temperatures hovers near or slightly below the freezing mark. About 5 centimeters of snow can be expected through Saturday morning.

Hemmingford, Huntingdon, Saint-Rémi, Soulanges, Valleyfield – Beauharnois, Vaudreuil, Châteauguay – La Prairie, Longueuil –Varennes, Brome-Missisquoi, Coaticook, Granby – Waterloo, Mont-Orford – lac Memphrémagog, Lacolle, Saint-Jean – Marieville, Sorel – Yamaska and Verchères – Beloeil are the areas affected by the special weather statement.
