Weather Worries

However you feel about it, it’s likely that the state of the weather will go on.

A bit of winter weather fun.

I overhear the funniest conversations about the weather. As I’m not a big small talker, I don’t find myself talking about the state of the seasons much, but I can tell you honestly that most conversations about such things take a negative tone—it’s either too hot, or too cold, or a storm is coming or something to do with the roads being terrible.

It’s quite funny, as the weather is one of those things that is completely out of our control. Some of the things I hear less are, “It’s a lovely hot day today”, or “Isn’t nature a beautiful thing?” A friend of mine recently looked out at the snowscape and protested, “I’m so done with winter!!” I had to laugh, and responded, “I know, right? And winter doesn’t even care!”

I have the great luck to work from home, and I try to arrange my appointments, errands, etc. on the same day so that I’m not running about losing my mind on any given day—which also means that I rarely have to check the weather. (It’s worth mentioning that I don’t usually read up on the state of the seasons as a rule, as I feel that I’m just setting myself up for unpredictable disappointment). All I can say is thank goodness that A) I don’t have to drive into the city or any center of civilization for work and B) that I don’t drive a snowplough—because both of those things require the type of diligence that I’m probably not capable of. That being said, it is still March, so snow is inevitable—why not just enjoy it a little before we’re too scorching hot to breathe?
