The Quatuor Montérégie String Quartet is Back

The Quatuor Montérégie string quartet is back for a second year on Saturday, May 6th at the Grove Hall in Huntingdon.

Starting at 8 pm, Roman Fraser, Sheila Hannigan, Ingrid Matthiessen and Rosemary Shaw will take the stage at the Grove Hall, where they will perform their interpretation of composers John S. Gray, Erwin Schulhoff and Alexander Borodin.

Roman Fraser of Hinchinbrooke, is well known throughout the Valley. His reputation as a violinist is ever-growing and hearing him play is simply a delight for the ears.

Ingrid Matthiessen, who has played first violin with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra since 1987, lives in Saint-Chrysostome. She was a founding member of the Molinari Quartet.

Violist Rosemary Shaw of Havelock is also a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. She plays regularly with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, co-founded the Bérard Quartet and is the principal violinist at the Roma Music Festival.

Cellist Sheila Hannigan, plays regularly with the Metropolitan Orchestra, the Montreal Opera, I Musici de Montreal, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, The Contemporary Music Society of Quebec, La Piétà, Allegra Chamber Music and the Ensemble Acacia. Several film soundtracks and music albums are among her accomplishments as well.

This evening of fine music cannot be missed!
