Freezing rain is expected in Montérégie, Tuesday evening, warns Environment Canada.

A long-lastin period of freezing rain resulting in ice accumulation is expected or occuring.

An additionnal 5 to 10 millimetres of freezing rain is expected beginning Tuesaday evening in the region.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces, says Environment Canada.
